Parking Team Needs:  We are seeking to grow the parking team, a rotation of people on Sunday mornings, to welcome people and direct the flow of traffic. This ministry makes a huge impact as they are often the first impression of our church. They also offer direction for handicapped drivers and are ready to offer additional assistance when needed. Family Worship & The Holidays:  Join us today at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Center for our November Sunday Seminar. As we prepare our hearts for the upcoming holiday season, we want to help parents and families celebrate well, and disciple their kids intentionally, to the glory of God. With a combination of teaching on the Biblical foundation for family worship, and practical tools for creating a Christ-centered home, this will be a helpful resource for families young and old. 


Man Up Dinner: Men, join us on Friday, November 15, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. for our annual Man Up Dinner! We are excited to hear from our new Grow Pastor, Mark Spansel, and enjoy a time of fellowship. Come, be encouraged, meet other men of our church, and enjoy some tacos and churros! The cost is $20. We hope to see you there!




GO MINISTRY

2020 Go Team Interest Meeting: Are you interested in going on a 2020 Go Team mission trip? We will be heading to Haiti, Alaska, Hope Gardens, and Mexico, with future potential trips to Japan, India, and Myanmar. Join us for an interest meeting today, November 10, at 12:30 p.m. in the Adult Classrooms. A light lunch will be provided. Email go@lifeatcrossroads.org with any questions! 


Go Spotlight:  Our Go Spotlight for November is Axia- Foster and Adoption Support Group. Axia is a group designed to support and care for foster and adoptive families in our church and local community. Our heart is to care for kids who have come from difficult situations and to support the families caring for them. We also seek to provide tangible opportunities for church members to wrap around and support these families as the needs can be great. Whether you are a foster family, adoptive family, if interested in learning more, or would just like to be a support person, we invite you to join us. Axia meets the first Thursday of each month. UP Kid's Program:  We meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights from September 17 - November 19. UP kid's program includes Bible lessons, worship, and fun games and is open to all kids 4 years old through 6th grade. If registering a friend in person, please have their contact information, including email address. Advanced registration is preferred. 


NexGen's Chuck E. Cheese's Family Party Fundraiser:  Please join us on Friday, November 22, anytime between 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Pastor Ken will be there from 5-7 p.m.) at Chuck E. Cheese's. Please mention NexGen/Crossroads when making purchases. Only purchases at the register, including tokens, will benefit NexGen. No registration necessary. We look forward to seeing you there! This is a family event, not a drop off event.

Hope Gardens is the women's and children's branch of the Union Rescue Missions, and is a housing facility for those experiencing homelessness. We will be putting on a carnival with games for the moms and kids, as well as serving lunch, and having a special worship and teaching service. We will also be doing a work service project. Join us to help with the carnival or service project from 9 am-2 pm! Register online today.

Elevate Alaska Mission Trip:  Elevate is headed back to Alaska in 2020. We will partner with GraceWorks ministries to provide VBS type park parties to inner city children and youth. Jr. and Sr. High School students are welcome to sign up for this trip at any Elevate Ministry event. Trip dates: June 7-13, 2020 and the cost is $1700.00. Note: we will be fundraising for the cost. Go Spotlight:  Elijah and Alli Kellogg are working in Southeast Asia among a vastly unreached people group called the Shan-Tai. Elijah and Alli will be living among the Shan, working with primarily college students, but also others in their city share the gospel and plant house-based churches within the Shan culture and language. They are in the process of beginning a coffee house that will be used for English learning and gospel opportunities. Show up at 7pm with your friends and a 2019 CCC Med Form (on file or in hand) and we will be taking off to play Bigger, Better, Best. This is an off campus event where students will be driven to a local neighborhood to exchange a paper clip for something bigger and better, the group with the best item wins!  If parents are willing to drive, please contact your student's small group leader, we need you! For more information contact students@lifeatcrossroads.org.


Sr. High Ministry Event: Wednesday October 30th is Elevate's annual Fall Film Festival! We are excited to have you walk down the red carpet, watch the films you have made, and handing out the Oscars for Best Actor, Actress, Director and Film. It will be a great night! Bring your friends!


Elevate Winter Camp:  Sign ups for Elevate Winter Camp begins on Sunday, October 27th at the registration cart in the lobby. Jr. High Winter Camp is Jan. 24-26, 2020, Sr. High Winter Camp is Feb. 21-23, 2020, both camps are going to Hume Lake Christian Camps and the cost is $355. Life at Crossroads 301 - Join Our Family: Today, October 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center. It is our hope that those who have been part of our church for a season will decide to formally become part of our church family. This class will give you more details about what we believe and will allow you to ask any questions you may have regarding our church, structure, vision, and organization. Lunch and childcare is provided.


Believer’s Baptism:  If you are a Christ follower that has not been baptized, you have an opportunity to do so next Sunday, October 27th. Details will be emailed to participants after they have registered.

Life at Crossroads Class:  All classes meet on Sundays in the Student Center. 


LAC 201 Live As Family -  4-week class ends today | 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Introduces key concepts and our church values in helping each other follow Jesus. This class also begins the Small Group experience for all.  

          

LAC 301 Join Our Family - October 20 | 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Go Saturday Serving:  Join us for our second annual Go Saturday serving event! On Saturday, November 9, we will be going as a church body to serve at Hope Gardens in Sylmar! Hope Gardens is the women's and children's branch of the Union Rescue Missions, and is a housing facility for those experiencing homelessness. We will be putting on a carnival with games for the moms and kids, as well as serving lunch, and having a special worship and teaching service. We will also be doing a work service project. Join us to help with the carnival or service project from 9 am-2 pm! Please attend our Interest Meeting on Sunday, October 20, at 11 am in Adult Classroom C if you are interested! Go Spotlight:  Elijah and Alli Kellogg are working in Southeast Asia among a vastly unreached people group called the Shan-Tai. Elijah and Alli will be living among the Shan, working with primarily college students, but also others in their city share the gospel and plant house-based churches within the Shan culture and language. They are in the process of beginning a coffee house that will be used for English learning and gospel opportunities. ELEVATE  MINISTRY - Jr. High and Sr. High School

Elevate Alaska Mission Trip:  Elevate is headed back to Alaska in 2020. We will partner with GraceWorks ministries to provide VBS type park parties to inner city children and youth. Jr. and Sr. High School students are welcome to sign up for this trip at any Elevate Ministry event. Trip dates: June 7-13, 2020 and the cost is $1700.00. Note: we will be fundraising for the cost. We will learn ten important principles employed by detectives, and apply these techniques to the New Testament Gospel accounts. We will investigate the claims of Christianity using the skills of a cold-case detective. Participants will grow in certainty and unite in confidence as they learn how to defend the truth through this unique investigative experience.

Go Spotlight:  John and Ramie Book serve with Bridges International, a ministry of Cru, as one of our local Go partners, reaching the international students of UCLA, USC, and other campuses throughout Los Angeles. Their mission is to share Christ with international students at these schools, that they might come to Christ and return to their home countries as gospel influencers. Whether on campus or in the dorms, the Books are fulfilling the Great Commission by making disciples of students in the Los Angeles area. They will be here in our lobby today so stop by and see them!


Walk for Life:  Save the date for this year's annual SCV Pregnancy Center Walk for Life on Saturday, September 28. The Walk will begin right here at Crossroads, with registration opening at 8:00 a.m. and the walk starting at 9 a.m. Sign up online at www.scvpc.org/walk-for-life! reThink Conference 2019:  Calling all 8th and 12th grade students!! We are heading back to the Stand to Reason conference, reThink! This year we will be learning to reThink your false ideas about God. reThink is an apologetics conference where we learn how to share our faith with the lost world in a loving, kind way, but with solid facts. Dates: 9/27-28 Cost: $85 Location: Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. This is an overnight event, we will be staying in a hotel near Calvary Chapel.
